Georgetown VSA first came to life back in Fall 1989, according to archived documents at the university’s Student Activities Commission (SAC). Due to weak leadership, low member retention, and general loss of cause the original VSA went into a dormant phase for many years. On September 19, 2007, sophomore Duyen Bui decided to take the initiative to re-establish VSA with the help of several fellow Vietnamese American and international students. After one full year of exciting events and experiences with other official organizations, these students took the next step towards full re-establishment of VSA. The organization became once again official with SAC on November 25, 2008.
